MATRIX offers a full range of therapies for the clinical management of patients with acute and chronic wounds including conventional wound therapy, compression therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, debridement, specialty dressings, growth factors, bioengineered tissue products, patient education and coordination of specialty services.

Transcutaneous Oxygen Measurement
This non-invasive technique is used as an adjunctive screening tool to evaluate skin oxygenation to predict effectiveness of HBO therapy and healing probability of chronic wounds. TCOMS are also used to "map" microvascular oxygen levels in patients with unsalvageable limbs in order to assist the surgeon in determining appropriate amputation levels.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
HBO is the evidence based, systemic delivery of 100% oxygen at a level that is 2-3 times greater than atmospheric pressure in an enclosed acrylic chamber. Studies have shown a 25% increase in healing of problem wounds with the addition of adjunctive HBO therapy for appropriate patients. Healing time is also reduced initiating a more rapid return to a more productive lifestyle.

The following are Medicare approved conditions for the use of HBO therapy:
  • Diabetic Wounds
  • Acute Crush Injuries and suturing of severed limbs
  • Acute Traumatic Peripheral Ischemia
  • Acute Occlusive Peripheral Arterial Insufficiency
  • Preservation of Compromised Skin Grafts and Flaps
  • Progressive Necrotizing Infections
  • Gas Gangrene
  • Chronic Refractory Osteomyelitis
  • Osteoradionecrosis
  • Soft Tissue Radionecrosis
  • Actinomycosis
  • Acute Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
  • Cyanide Poisoning
  • Decompression Illness
  • Gas Embolism
Some insurers also cover
  • Calciphalxis
  • Spider bites
  • Burns
  • Smoke inhalation
  • Brain Injury (off label)
